VIDEO::Introduction to executive function and how the fueling brains approach
SCHOOL HOURS
Monday - Friday | 6:30AM- 6:00PM | Core Curriculum Hours 8:30AM-2:30PM*
Welcome to Asbury Day School. We have been proudly serving the Pasadena and surrounding communities since 1967.
At Asbury we provide children with a loving Christian and academic environment. Asbury uses the research-based Fueling Brains approach and cirriculum which specializes in developing the Executive Function in early childhood that results in individuals who grow up to be fearless, who make conscious decisions, manage their impulses, regulate their emotions, be flexible, quickly adapt to change, remain confident and be happy! This unique learning approach focuses on how to learn rather than what to learn.
The Fueling Brain Curriculum integrates the hands-on, interactive instructional approach of Montessori with the creative, community-focused approach of Reggio Emilia with the physically active focus of Movement Learning to engage the whole child, left brain, right brain, and body, in the learning process. The Left Brain- focused activities bring peace, order and sense of routine in the child’s daily life through practice, repetition and purposeful work. Children experience hands-on learning activities in language, mathematics, culture and geography. The goal is to build confidence, self-esteem and a ‘can-do’ attitude in children through practical, real-life experiences. The Right Brain-focused activities allow imagination and exploration to ignite your child’s natural curiosity. They support creative thinking and expression through art, dance, and storytelling. The goal is to build a child’s community through connections with others, relationship and friendship. The movement-focused activities support children’s physical development through skill-based activities that encourage children to get stronger, faster and more balanced. These activities support the mind-body connection to enhance brain development. The goal is for children to stay moving and active to keep busy, burn energy, boost health and have fun.
With a deep desire to foster a love of learning, our staff are highly trained in Early Childhood Techniques and remain dedicated to thier continuing education. We offer Before and After School Care to help our working families by providing loving student care outside of the academic hours.
We look forward to getting to know your family.

CURRENT PARENTS
“
"We are so grateful to have found Asbury Day School through a family member. The staff here are so genuine and caring, and they really care about their students. My daughter loves coming here, and is always excited to go to school. I love that the school ‘feels’ small, while being a really stimulating & fun environment. The fact that Asbury is a Christian school & has a great new Christian curriculum is just a huge added blessing also. I hope that Asbury will continue to run for many decades to come."
– BLESSY
"My son is in his second year at Asbury Day School and they have exceeded all of our expectations! The teachers and staff have fostered my son’s love of learning and he is so excited to go to school each day. The growth we have seen in his social skills and education have provided reassurance that he is in the right place. We have been so impressed with the time and energy put into the classrooms and in forming relationships with each student. Staff is very accommodating and responsive to any questions we have had. I highly recommend Asbury Day School if you are looking for a caring, safe, educational and fun environment for your child!"

“As former principal of Turner Elementary, I found students that have attended the Asbury Day School to be well-prepared academically, behaviorally, and socially for school when they enroll in public school.

FORMER PARENTS
“As former students of Asbury Day School ourselves, we knew without a doubt we would enroll our son when he turned 2. Asbury’s Day School has been such an important part of our son’s education, development and continued growth in his relationship with Jesus! “We love worshiping together as a family at Asbury on Sunday mornings and it was such a blessing to have a safe place to help our son not only grow academically but also spiritually. We are beyond blessed to have had these amazing teachers and care givers in our son’s life, and we look forward to being able to enroll our youngest in Asbury Day School in a few years!”
– BRAD & LAUREL
“After our son struggled in his last program (PK3), we were hesitant to enroll him in another day school. The previous year had been full of stress and uncertainty, and seeing that our son’s spirit was crushed we decided to pull him out early. A friend encouraged us to try Asbury. She mentioned that the teachers were experienced in early childhood education and the program incorporated varying educational opportunities to keep the kids engaged. We took the leap and we were amazed at the progress our son made throughout the year. He was thriving and excited to go to school. He loved his teachers and he learned so much. We are so grateful for our experience at Asbury Day School.”
– MISTY & CHRISTOPHER
“After 1 year in Asbury’s Kindergarten program our daughter went to public school for 1st grade, received the student of the year award and got straight A’s. I would recommend Asbury Day School hands-down to anyone!”

At Asbury we provide a strong Christian and academic foundation. Small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratio allow our students to receive more individualized attention necessary to better foster social skills such as cooperative play, getting along with others, and taking turns.
The Left-brain, Right-Brain, Movement Approach
Rather than resting on our laurels with a singular approach to development, we acknowledge & understand that each child has their own learning curve, and that's why our unique 3 in 1 curriculum picks up the best of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Movement teaching philosophies. Our LRM learning system contains over 5000 different activities to develop the executive functions and fluid intelligence in every child.
Yes. Asbury Methodist Day School is licensed through the state of Texas.
