YES! As our youngest disciples, kids and youth are so very important to us at Asbury.
On Sundays we have nursery from 8:45 AM to 12:15 PM available for children newborn through 3 years old. Through play, music and crafts children first learn of God’s great love for them.
We offer PreK and Elementary Sunday School classes from 10 AM to 10:50 AM for children 3 years through 5th Grade. Our Sunday School lessons include a variety of activities, to help provide children with a meaningful understanding of who Jesus is and how much God loves them. Using stories found in the Bible children engage with God’s word and learn how Jesus is with them always and how they can worship, grow, serve and share Jesus everywhere they go.
On Sundays, all of our children’s ministry activities take place in the children’s ministry wing located in the main building near the sanctuary.
During the 11 AM Worship Service we offer WOW Worship (an interactive worship experience designed specifically for children 3 years to 3rd grade) in our children's ministry wing (located in the same building as the sanctuary). Children will begin worship in the sanctuary and after the children's message those who want to participate in WOW worship will head down the hall with our children's ministry director Mrs. Paula and our WOW Worship volunteers. WOW worship is offered every Sunday except the 1st Sunday of the month when we celebrate communion together.
Asbury is also home to Asbury Day School. Licensed through the state of Texas, Asbury offers a nurturing and educational Christian environment for preschool, pre-K and Kindergarten age children in the Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Clear Lake and surrounding communities.
Yes! Open to all 6th-12th graders, we call ourselves Encounter, because we seek to encounter God everywhere we go and in eveything we do. Everyone is welcome, no matter where you find yourself on your spiritual journey. We offer several different activities and special events throughout the month so check back regularly so you don't miss anything!
On Sunday morning Students can enjoy a light breakfast in our youth room, located in the Cornerstone Building (the building closest to Genoa Red Bluff) followed by bible study and discussions led by our Director of Youth Ministries.
Encounter nights (Sunday nights from 4PM-6PM) are full of fun! From music, games, competitions, word of God and worship to food and fellowship we've got it all! So join us every Sunday for at Encounter Nights!
At Encounter we understand that the church is not just the building, so we take the church to our homes! This is a place where all youth are welcome, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey. We play, we eat, we grow in our relationship with God and we pray for each other! This event is once a month, be on the lookout for our next PLUG-IN!
Asbury offers two unique styles of worship on Sunday mornings. Both worship experiences are roughly 45 minutes to an hour long and include music, scripture reading, prayer and an engaging message from Pastor Lindsay Kirkpatrick.
At 9AM worship you can expect to sing hymns, hear organ and piano accompaniment and participate in more traditional style of worship. The Asbury Handbell Choirs also provide special musical offerings through out the year during this service.
At 11AM worship you can expect to sing contemporary christian worship songs, hear drums, guitar and keyboard accompaniment and particiapte in a more casual style of worship.
The atmospehere at Asbury is casual and comfortable, some choose to wear jeans while others choose to wear their "Sunday best", no matter what you choose to wear you are welcome at Asbury!
At Asbury there are four main ways that we live into our life with Jesus; Worship, Grow, Serve and Share. Grow Groups are small communities within the larger community of Asbury where you can connect with others, study scripture (God's written word for us), pray for and support each other. If you are interested in becoming a part of a Grow Group at Asbury please visit our Grow Group Page where you can find out more information about each group as well as signup to join.
Serving is not just important to Asbury, it's who we are (Matthew 25:31-46). Asbury has many different ways to serve. To find out about current SERVE opportunities visit our SERVE page HERE or contact our serve team at serve@asbury.cc.
At Asbury we know that we are all Disciples in the Making. Basically we are all on a journey with God and each day is an opportunity to go further in that journey and to grow in our relationship with Jesus.
We have created some tools and resources to help you determine where you are at in your journey and where God is calling you to next as we WORSHIP, GROW, SERVE and SHARE Christ together!
What is Discipleship?
Discipleship, or being a disciple of Jesus, means being a follower or a student of His teachings. It means going through life continually learning and growing in our faith so we can teach others what we have experienced and learned. Discipleship is a life-long journey.
